I got to spend time on a camel farm in Al Ain and document Lea Koivisto, an ivy league educated business woman who left the corporate world behind to raise camels and horses in the middle of the desert.

TORONTO, ON. August 12, 2009 – Alessia Commisso, 6, knows all about horsing around with Larry the miniature horse. She has been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, but riding has helped her to overcome her shyness and even posture. BELLEVILLE, ON. January 19, 2009 –  Amber Orser runs the Orser training stable off Harmony Road and has faced frustration waiting for the Quinte Exhibition Raceway to be constructed. She now has to travel out of town to race her horses and is taking a financial hit because of it.

BELLEVILLE, ON. October 8, 2008 – George Howe and his two year-old racehorse in training, Cammis Most Wanted, warm up at the now defunct Quinte Exhibition Raceway. There are plans to build a new raceway  south of Bell Boulevard but there has been developers’ delays in acquiring financial backers over the last five years.
