Sarah Dea is currently working at the Toronto Star as a summer photography intern.
She is a 2009 graduate of the Fast Track Photojournalism program at Loyalist College in Belleville. There she won College Photographer of the Year in the 2008-2009 Loyalist Pictures of the Month contest.
Her interest in the medium is a natural extension of her time spent studying Journalism and Film Studies at Carleton University (BJ Hons 07) in Ottawa. There she earned the Mitch Jacobson Memorial Award in Photojournalism for her contributions to Centretown News.
Her work has since been featured in The Toronto Star, The National Post, The Ottawa Citizen, The Regina Leader-Post, The Kingston Whig-Standard, the National Film Board of Canada, CBC News Ottawa, CTV Ottawa and SAW Video.
She is enamored with nonsense, the off beat and visual life. She is currently exploring the impossible and the utopic.
